Slaghuis & Bring It 2 the Cypher are Crowning The King of Street Rap – Port Elizabeth

Crowning The King Of Street Rap is an annual nationwide Hip Hop music competition and the contest is a first of its kind in the South African Hip Hop Music Industry. All Rap competitions are about Battle Raps & Freestyles but this contest focuses on the Art of writing Hip Hop Music that move the audience.

Since 2003 to date Slaghuis Events have successfully paved ways for a number of artists in the Hip Hop music industry such as PRO KID, F EEZY, ZULU MOBB & 985. Crowning The King of Street Rap is no exception as it allows talented Artists the opportunity to express freedom through a music entertainment platform that will contribute to the sustainance of creativity and art.

Slaghuis has partnered with Bring It 2 the Cypher in Identifying eight of the most talented unsigned Rappers in the Eastern  Cape to compete for the Crown as the King of Street Rap. There 8 Artists competing for the King of Street Rap Crown are Optic, Elijah, Sammy Bronze, Tazz, IP, Hakim, Sibu and TK. We have invited three Guest judges that are instrumental in the Hip Hop Music Industry to arbitrate. The event comprises of a range of activities such as Video screenings, Exhibition stalls & Live Performances from Epic the Scriptwriter, Mbu Many-laughs (Host) and Dj’s Sykotiq, Kenichi & Dave on the decks.  

The King of Street Rap Champion wins prizes comprising of Butan Clothing Hamper & Slaghuis merchandise.

We have invited three celebrity judges that are instrumental in the Hip Hop Music Industry to arbitrate, our judges on the day will be Driemanskap, Kanyi and Enzo Slaghuis. The event comprises of a range of activities such as Video screenings, Exhibition stalls & Live Performances from Driemanskap, ill-skillz, Kanyi, Kritsi yeSpaza (Host) and Dj Zwai on the decks. The King of Street Rap Champion wins prizes comprising of Butan Clothing Hamper, Slaghuis merchandise & Red Bull Hamper.

The King Of Street Rap is taking place on the 4th of August from 18:00 till late 03:00 at Driemanskap Jukeboxx Sessions held at Platinum Lounge in Cape town.
